EBARA Provides High-Efficiency Centrifugal chiller in Bangladesh

 On January 19, EBARA Refrigeration Equipment & Systems Co., Ltd. (ERS), which handles refrigeration projects for the EBARA Group and Ebara Thermal Systems (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (ETST) was selected by the Ministry of the Environment for a JCM equipment subsidy project in Bangladesh.

The food industry, in particular with its essential oil and sugar production sectors, is an important industry in Bangladesh. Maximum temperatures exceed 30°celsius for eight months in the year in the country, making temperature and humidity control essential for the production of high-quality products. EBARA Group provides high-efficiency centrifugal chillers which reduce the CO2 emissions for this project.

This marks the first time a project in which ETST is involved has been selected. Established in Bangkok, Thailand in April 2013, ETST engages in the sale of refrigeration machines and cooling towers all throughout Thailand and Southeast Asia. ETST has been actively developing its business, including the expansion of its lineup of centrifugal type refrigerators in October of 2013.

EBARA Group will continue to use ETST as a base for accelerating and strengthening its refrigeration business foundations throughout Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia.

* About JCM Project
JCM project is to facilitate diffusion of leading low carbon technologies, products, systems, services, and infrastructure as well as implementing of mitigation actions, and contributing to the sustainability of developing countries.To evaluate contributions to GHG emission reductions or removals from developed countries in a quantitative manner, mitigation actions are implemented in developing countries and use those emission reductions or removals to achieve emission reduction targets of the developed countries.The development of the JCM Model Project consists of studies, the Project Planning Study (PS), Feasibility Study (FS) ,etc. The study for the development of the JCM Model Project surveys its feasibility. JCM Model Project is subsidized for equipment cost etc. to accomplish GHG emission reduction by the Japanese Government.
