Ebara Pumps Europe S.p.A. (“EPE”), a consolidated subsidiary of Ebara Corporation, has established a new company, EBARA PUMPS SOUTH AFRICA (PTY) LTD (“EPSA”), as a new business location in the Republic of South Africa, utilizing sales capabilities taken over from Zilmet Proprietary Limited (“Zilmet”)—a company engaged in the sale of standard pump products primarily in that country.
1.Background and Objectives
In its E-Plan 2019 medium-term management plan, the Ebara Group highlighted the use of M&A as one of its basic policies, as an effective means of achieving steady growth, by increasing its overseas market share and enhancing its product lineup, with a primary focus on standard pump businesses (for which stable growth and revenues are anticipated in the future).
By inheriting the sales functionality of Zilmet, a company with a sales track record for standard pumps in the Republic of South Africa—a country that is enjoying continual economic growth—makes it possible for Ebara to swiftly bolster its pump sales capabilities in South Africa and its surrounding countries. Moving forward, through the establishment of EPSA, Ebara will continue endeavoring to increase its sales of Ebara Group products and expand its market share in the region.
