I am a trainer in equipment training for customers of CMP Systems (semiconductor manufacturing equipment) sold by EBARA in Japan and overseas, as well as for engineers at affiliated companies. I am sometimes in charge of basic education for new employees. It makes me happy when I hold mid-level training a few years later for the same employees and have conversations with them on an equal footing, or when I see them grow to be greater engineers.
I am still learning skills for the XR training that we are currently working on. Last year, I studied by myself and passed the VR Engineer Certification Examination (Theory Course) from the Virtual Reality Society of Japan. Next, I also aim to pass the application course exam. I receive inquiries from numerous departments about how to use XR technology, and I have provided many demonstrations to introduce the technology.
At the same time, when it came to learning the skills for real CMP Systems— something I had done originally—I think I was the type of person who actively raised my hand and did my best in everything, because I was willing to pay for the hardships I had to endure when I was young.
For precision products that have fast development speeds and high update frequencies of their platforms, I would like to develop XR training once a new product design is completed and be able to provide training in a timely manner. In the field of after-sales service, I hope to see AI-enabled abnormality diagnoses and work assistance using AR be adopted. People tend to think of EBARA as being old, but I want people to know that there are many people who have innovative, creative ideas, so I hope to work together with them on manufacturing with a focus on freedom.
